Heat Wave

It's only the beginning of July and we are really sweltering.  The air conditioners are going full blast!
The dogs are shortening their outdoor playtime. They are coming in every 15 minutes to lap up water.

Today is the end of the July 4th, Independence Day weekend.  This always means that summer is really here.  The next holiday to look forward to is Labor Day and the beginning of the school year.

We have had lots of rain and humidity.  The mosquitoes are back in full force. My beautiful ruby-throated hummingbird is busy drinking her 4 ounces of sugar water daily.  Who knows how many flowers and other feeders she travels to in one day?

This morning our power went out for an hour. (Thankfully, it  didn't occur later in the day) You could feel the heat going up to over 70 inside the house. I thought we would not be able to enjoy a cooked breakfast of pancakes and slice of ham but everything turned out to be as we had planned after the power came on.

Well, its almost time for a light snack. Perhaps a tuna sandwhich.  Play with the dogs and watch some Sunday Night TV.
