Chesapeakes are loyal dogs. They want to be wherever you are. Some people have coined the saying that they are "velcro dogs". They definitely want in on the action of their owner.My Chessie's never had the wanderlust. If a gate in the backyard is opened in error and the patio door is closed, and your Chessie does not appear after you have called him to come in, check the front door. He will be sitting on your front porch, waiting for you to let him in.
